Shiver Hardship Fund  Previous Document

The SHIVER Hardship Fund aims to assist individuals across Blackpool Wyre and Fylde to cope with poverty and HIV through the provision of small grants to help alleviate financial hardship.

Our work is made possible through individual donations to SHIVER and LGBT community charity events and through the sales of the bracelets.

We respond to urgent requests, where the most basic of needs must be met to assist a person to cope with their HIV management. These needs can range from transport to a hospital appointment, to food and clothing, to respite care, or to provision of a washing machine.

The purpose of the Fund is to assist where a specific, HIV-related need presents itself. It does not fill gaps in statutory funding or help provide luxury goods.
