Kath – Executive Director for Strategy and Funding

As the founder of Renaissance I have been with the service since 1986, I have had the pleasure of seeing the organisation grow and develop from its onset and was thrilled to celebrate our 30th anniversary in 2016. I remain committed to the service’s future and retaining its place as an organisation of innovation and quality. After a recent move I am a keen lover of country living !

Shelley – Service Manager

I’m Shelley, Renaissance service manager and I have been with the organisation since 2005.
I am passionate about what we deliver as a service and am excited for the future. I’m a keen runner (when I can find the time)!

Julia – Business and Governance Manager

I’m Julia, Business & Governance Manager , I have worked with Renaissance since 1995 and I‘m very proud to have been part of the organisation and seeing it grow. Renaissance has always adapted and changed in line with current need and trends, and continues to serve the community in a caring and professional manner. I look forward to an exciting future for the staff, volunteers and service users.

Anthony – Sexual Health Practitioner (HORIZON)

I joined Renaissance in 2014 and moved into my current role as LGB&T Development Lead for Blackpool in 2015. After growing up in Blackpool as an openly gay man, it is great to be able to offer support to those in the town that need it as well as working with the LGB&T community to raise awareness and tackle stigma.  I also coordinate the service’s net reach project and digital communications and lead on our status as local activation partner for HIV prevention England.

In my spare time I enjoy socialising on Blackpool’s vibrant gay scene as well as travelling and visiting the theatre.

Antony – Volunteer Coordinator

 

Hi, I’m Antony the Volunteer Coordinator. I recruit, train and manage all the good people who volunteer their time in our service. I have over 15 year history of working in various projects in Renaissance. When I’m not at work I’m looking after my 3 rescue cats and my life partner!

Ali – Quality & Effectiveness & Harm Reduction Coordinator

I’m both the Quality and Effectiveness Facilitator and Harm Reduction Co-ordinator for the service. I have been with  Renaissance since 2013 and I enjoy both the roles I undertake, however I hope to strengthen, improve and grow our Harm Reduction offer, particularly with our Needle Exchange service users. Outside of work I like adventure and spontaneity.

Lisa – Finance Officer

I’m Lisa, Finance Officer. I began working for Renaissance over 10 years ago as an accounts assistant/administrator. My role has adapted to the needs of the organisation allowing me to acquire a diverse skills set.
I spend my spare time with family and friends, I love travelling and I’m a keen fitness enthusiast with an interest in nutrition.

My names Nicola Hayton, Blackpool’s Administrator & Receptionist, I have worked for Renaissance since March 2013, every day in our team is a new experience and I love it!!

Jo – HIV Support (HORIZON)

I am a Non-Clinical Sexual health Practitioner. I have worked since 2010 with people living with or affected by HIV which I love. I have a passion for pets, especially dogs.

Charleen – Sex Worker Support (HORIZON)

Hello my name is Charleen Kitchen I have been in post since 2006. I support both male and female sex workers. I offer support to massage parlours ,lone, street, and web workers.
I have supported many clients over the years and hope the service we provide has been beneficial to them. I enjoy meeting new people and get called the “condom lady” as I always have a stock of condoms with me wherever I go.

Leah – Sexual Health Practitioner (HORIZON)

I have worked for Renaissance for over 10 years. I have had many different roles within the organisation but currently I am employed part time as Sexual health Outreach Coordinator and Night Safe Haven Bus Project Coordinator.  I am also on secondment two days a week to Lancashire LGBT, working in community engagement. I have always believed in the aims and objectives of the organisation and will continue to offer my support to people in Blackpool who need it.
When I’m not working I love nothing more than spending time with my family in the North East and also love being outdoors in the beautiful English countryside.

Currently working with those affected by rape and/or sexual violence since 2011, my background is in social work/care with around 15 years experience. I have been with the organisation since 2006

I have two children, two dogs and like to go on holiday as much as possible.

Hollie (CISVA)

My name’s Hollie, and I’m the children and young person’s ISVA for Blackpool. This is a new project funded by Children in Need and I am excited to get it up and running. I am new to Renaissance, joining in 2017, but have experience working with EBD children and working within a rape crisis centre. I studied at Huddersfield University and graduated with a first class honours degree in Criminology. In my spare time I enjoy weekends away and visiting new places.

Hi I’m Lianne. I am an assertive outreach worker with Horizon. I have previous experience within the substance misuse field and I have a passion for people in addiction and supporting them through recovery.

My name is Tom and I have worked at Renaissance since 2015 as Assertive Outreach Worker which involves the engagement and retention of clients in service, and I have a further 7 years of experience in a similar roll. I am extremely passionate about what I do and reap the rewards of helping people every day. When not working I let my hair down as a karaoke/disco presenter.

My name is Christian, Assertive Outreach Worker, I have been with Renaissance since 2015, but have a previous 11 years’ experience in residential and community setting as part of multi-disciplinary teams. I am empathic in my approach to the consequences of addiction, and believe recovery is a reality for anyone.

Freddie – Assertive Outreach Worker (HORIZON)

Freddie is an Assertive Outreach Worker with Drugline under the Horizon treatment system Blackpool. Has previously gained a degree in health and social care through Lancaster university. Also involved in Blackpool recovery group with previous experience within substance misuse.

John Horton Outreach

John Horton – Assertive Outreach Worker (HORIZON)

Hello my name is John Horton, I have been a member of the drug and alcohol outreach team since I became involved with the organisation in 2015 as a volunteer on college placement. I have since gone on to complete my degree in mental health and substance misuse. My role today has changed I am currently working on the development of a new Hepatitis C initiative to remove barriers to treatment, tackle stigma, engage the hardest to reach members of our community and support those in need of treatment.

Yvonne – HIV Support (Healthier Living)

Hi I’m Yvonne one of the Healthier Living Non-clinical HIV Support Specialists and provide support throughout Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen. I have been with Renaissance since 2010 and started as a volunteer. I am passionate about sexual health and love my role as an HIV support specialist with Renaissance. In my spare time (when I have some) I enjoy spending time in Wales with my family and sea kayaking.

Jane – HIV Support (Healthier Living)

Hi I’m Jane, one of the Healthier Living Non clinical HIV Support Specialist, who covers Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen. I have been with Renaissance since 2009. I started as a Volunteer with the service and progressed to a paid worker in 2011. I am passionate about my role as an HIV support specialist. In my spare time I enjoy hiking and fell walking.

I am a non clinical HIV Support outreach worker for the Healthier Living Project at Reniassance. I am also leading the Lancashire Voice Project which acts as a voice for people living with HIV.

I have a passion for different foods and travelling.

Hi I’m Zoey and I am a Transformational Coach for the Changing Futures Project at Renaissance. I support individuals in Lancashire who are at risk of exclusion from the labour market, to move towards or into employment, education or training. I joined the Renaissance Team in 2017, previous to this I was an Education and Wellbeing Specialist in Greater Manchester. This project is part of the nationwide Building Better Opportunities scheme, which brings together funding from the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund (ESF) to help tackle poverty and social exclusion. The project aims to transform the futures of people of all ages (over 15) who have issues in their lives that are getting in the way of them finding employment or participating in training or education. It focuses on participants with mental or physical health difficulties, who are homeless, have disabilities or may be full-time carers.
In my spare time I love being outdoors.

John Coburn Changing Futures

John Coburn – Transformational Coach

Prior to this I was a volunteer at Renaissance helping facilitate social and support groups.  I have experience of working in the housing and homelessness sectors and am passionate about these causes.  In my spare time I enjoy reading, swimming and country walks; and I have a keen interest in current affairs.
